Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule truck drivers for pickups, deliveries, and routes, considering time constraints, delivery schedules, and customer requests.
  • Communicate with drivers to provide clear instructions, updates, and any changes in delivery requirements or routes.
  • Monitor truck locations and statuses using GPS or tracking systems, ensuring on-time arrivals and addressing any delays or issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff, customers, and other departments to optimize delivery schedules and resolve logistical problems.
  • Record and maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation related to dispatch activities, deliveries, and driver communications.
  • Update and maintain databases or software systems with relevant information, including customer details, delivery statuses, and route changes.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Address driver concerns, troubleshoot issues, and provide necessary support to ensure driver satisfaction and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics role, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple drivers and tasks simultaneously.
