Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and repair or replace faulty components.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues, perform diagnostic tests, and provide accurate assessments of necessary repairs.
- Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other vehicle components as needed.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines, technical manuals, and safety protocols for all repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure proper functioning and verify completion of work.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and other team members regarding repair status and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a truck mechanic or in a similar role, preferably working with heavy-duty vehicles and trucks.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, mechanical systems, and repair techniques for trucks and commercial vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, technical manuals, and adherence to regulations.
- Certification from a vocational or technical school in automotive or diesel technology is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record may be required.
