Responsibilities:
- Safe Operation of Commercial Vehicles:
- Drive company-owned trucks to transport goods and materials to specified destinations.
- Ensure the safe and secure loading and unloading of cargo.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Cargo Handling:
- Verify and document the type and quantity of cargo being transported.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportation.
- Conduct routine checks of the vehicle’s condition before and after each trip.
- Timely Deliveries:
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
- Notify appropriate personnel of any delays, accidents, or other incidents.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including hours of service.
- Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups.
- Provide excellent customer service and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, brakes, and tires.
- Report any mechanical issues or defects to the maintenance team.
