Sidney Myer Centennial Scholarship Australia-2024

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• • identify as a woman (cis-gender and trans women) or non-binary,

OR

• • have applied via the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) and be eligible under Category 2 Disadvantaged Financial Background (and apply under other categories if applicable to their circumstances) and meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce nominated in their VTAC application,

OR

• • be a holder of an Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa.

AND

In addition, you must meet all the following requirements:

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen,
• have completed an Australian Year 12 or the IB in Australia,
• not have completed subjects undertaken as part of a tertiary course (except subjects that were part of an extension program),
• have applied for the University of Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce via VTAC for commencement in the year following completion of Australian Year 12 or the IB,
• meet the entry requirements for the University of Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce.

Selection criteria

Selection of eligible applicants who identify as a woman or non-binary or who are Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders is made based on academic merit (the results you achieved in your Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate qualification).

Selection of eligible applicants who are eligible under the Disadvantaged Financial Category (via SEAS and Access Melbourne) is made based on an applicant’s overall level of disadvantage.

Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered for this scholarship based on the information provided in their VTAC application, including in their SEAS application where applicable.

No further information is required and there is no separate application process.

Successful domestic students will be notified of their scholarship offer in January 2024.

Scholarship offers are sent by email to the email address a student used to apply to the University. Only successful scholarship outcomes are issued. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
