Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling potatoes, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Dispose of trash, empty garbage containers, and ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed.
- Organize and stock kitchen inventory, including food items, utensils, and cleaning supplies.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper handling and storage of perishable and non-perishable goods.
- Support kitchen staff during service hours by fetching ingredients, setting up stations, and assisting in plating dishes.
- Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a kitchen environment or similar role is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to learn and take direction from chefs and senior kitchen staff.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices and sanitation guidelines is advantageous.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that involve lifting and carrying.
